Burk Technology is at booth N6920.

LITTLETON, MA (2/11/08) - Burk Technology, the industry’s leading supplier of broadcast facility remote control systems, announced 6 new products and upgrades to be shown at NAB2008.

Plus-X AC-8
The Plus-X AC-8 provides independent management of equipment connected to 120V outlets, allowing remote rebooting of servers, PCs and more. Broadcasters can also remotely manage HVAC, lighting and other appliances. The product connects directly to the Burk ARC Plus remote control via Ethernet, or to any remote control (including the GSC3000 and ARC-16) using general purpose inputs. A built-in web server allows stand-alone remote connectivity.

PlusConnect HZ and PlusConnect HDX
The PlusConnect HZ and the PlusConnect HDX bring hundreds of parameters from the Harris Z and the Harris DX transmitters directly to the Burk ARC Plus remote control, with remote management via web, software, dial-up and front panel. A single serial connection reduces installation time and allows detailed monitoring of parameters not available via external parallel wiring.

ARC Plus Mobile Web Connectivity
Burk Technology is demonstrating mobile web connectivity to the ARC Plus Broadcast Facility Control System. The ARC Plus has quickly become an industry leader in IP-based remote control. The ARC Plus now allows remote access via web-enabled cell phones and PDAs, including Treos, iPhones, Pocket PCs, and more. Virtually any device with web access can now monitor transmitter readings and allow remote operators to review alarms, issue commands and run macros without a PC.

Mobile web connectivity is now shipping with all new ARC Plus systems. Current users can upgrade free by visiting the support section at www.burk.com.

ARC Plus Version 2.0
Burk is also showing Version 2.0 software and firmware for the ARC Plus Broadcast Facility Control System. The free upgrade offers expanded data analysis tools to improve preventive plant maintenance and allow easier remote troubleshooting of fault conditions. Numerous usability improvements are also included.

GSC3000/VRC2500 Upgrade
For the GSC3000 and VRC2500 broadcast remote control platforms, Burk is releasing a free firmware upgrade that adds selective alarm dial-out. By directing each alarm call to the most appropriate personnel, the upgrade allows better coordination of fault response.

“The products and upgrades we’re showing underscore our commitment to a new generation of broadcast remote control solutions,” said Peter Burk, president of Burk Technology. “We’re harnessing advanced technology to help broadcasters competitively manage their studio and transmitter plants.”

In addition to the new entries on display, Burk Technology will show its complete line of remote monitoring and control solutions, including the Watchband™ Remote AM/FM/RDS Receiver and the ARC Plus, ARC-16, GSC3000 and VRC2500 transmitter remote control platforms.

Burk Technology is at booth N6920.
