Radio One Orders 52 Burk PPM™ Assurance Units

Burk Technology announced today a Radio One order for 52 PPM Assurance units.

LITTLETON, MA (08/21/09) - Burk Technology announced today a Radio One order for 52 PPM Assurance units. The system will be deployed across the radio group’s Arbitron PPM markets in order to automate recovery in the event of a PPM encoding failure.

For stations in an Arbitron PPM market, a loss of encoding can result in compromised ratings accuracy. By deploying PPM Assurance, these stations enable prompt, automatic encoding recovery.

PPM Assurance works by detecting PPM encoding errors due to hardware failure, misconfiguration and audio silence. The system then takes appropriate corrective action to restore PPM encoding. Email notifications alert personnel to all activity and the system maintains a detailed, Web-accessible audit record.
