Burk Technology Advances Cost Savings and Efficiency with New Offerings
See new cost saving solutions and advances in remote control hardware and software at booth C1614 at NAB 2010.
LITTLETON, MA (3/17/2010) – Burk Technology announced today three new products in line with its commitment to improve broadcasters’ efficiency and return on investment. Advances in remote control hardware and software benefit new users as well as users of all existing Burk systems. The new products will be on display in booth C1614 at NAB 2010.
AutoPilot® 2010
For the first time, users of Burk ARC Plus, ARC-16, GSC3000 and VRC2500 systems can consolidate remote control management in a single software application. Using the new Burk Technology AutoPilot 2010, broadcasters benefit through reduction in remote site and IT overhead expenses, reduced operator training, and lower engineering expenses. The new software leverages the stations’ existing investment in remote control equipment while offering contemporary benefits such as IP connectivity, SNMP, macros, email and SMS notification, and advanced alarm reporting.
Plus-X I/O
Facilitating more monitoring and control possibilities than ever before, the industry-leading ARC Plus remote facility management system now uses existing IP infrastructure for real world equipment connections. The new Plus-x Integrated Input Unit and Integrated Command Relay Unit offer great flexibility and cost savings in plant wiring, allowing broadcast engineers to remotely position the Plus-X IIU and Plus-X ICRU – in another room or off-site – and communicate over an existing LAN with the ARC Plus.
PPM™ Assurance
Burk is also showing its award winning PPM Assurance system, which has enjoyed rapid acceptance among radio broadcasters as the optimal method of safeguarding Arbitron® ratings and revenue. PPM Assurance connects to Arbitron equipment, providing automatic fault notification and recovery to prevent ratings loss. Scheduled periodic tests verify that the backup equipment is working properly and ready to automatically resume encoding if needed.
“Burk is focused on developing and offering superior products that both improve on-air reliability and save money. Our NAB line up demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our customers and the industry by helping them operate more efficiently and capture the ratings they earned,” said Peter Burk, president of Burk Technology.
