Important Service Note: Starting with I/O firmware version 5.1.14, the COM ports used for direct, dial-up and full-time modem connections are reversed. Not all units are affected. Click Here for more information.
If you ever need to reload or upgrade firmware for your GSC3000 I/O or Voice Interface unit, the following versions are available for download:
Note: All I/O and Voice Interface units in your site need to have the same major version (ie. 5) of firmware to communicate with each other.
Firmware Upload Instructions:
- Unplug the GSC3000 I/O or VI unit and remove the cover.
- For I/O 8 & 16: Engage the JP9 jumper on the mainboard. Power up the unit while the jumper is engaged. For Voice Interface: Engage the JP1 jumper on the main voice board. Power up the unit while the jumper is engaged.
- Wait a couple of seconds and unplug the unit. Disengage the jumper. Re-apply power. The Remote/Local LED should now be off, indicating the firmware has been cleared.
- For I/O 8 & 16: Connect a null modem cable from any PC serial port to the COM 2 port on I/O. For Voice Interface: Connect a null modem cable from any PC serial port to the COM 1 port on the Voice Interface.
